scientific explanation.
Explanation is a word that we are use to summarize that the action we are take describe something. So scientific explanation is a process that use to describe scientific process. Scientific explanation is a key term of a logic, philosophy and also a science. This process has used in the past and it is going back to the date of Aristotle and now a days and also in future will be using this process. History of scientific explanation is based on various metaphysical formulas. The metaphysical categories have been replaced by mathematics and measurements after Galileo urged. The book “Studies in the logical of Explanation” was the first source of scientific explanation. that was written by Carl Hempel and Paul Oppenheim. Scientific explanation is a very important criteria for solve difficult question not only in philosophy but also in science.
If we consider about the logical empiricism before we move on to
the scientific explanation. Logical empiricism and logical positivism give
sound as same and the term logical positivism is the old one. It is hard to outline
that this is a logical positivism. It was a western philosophical method. The
theory of knowledge is based on logical positivism and it says that only
statements that can be prove through direct observations or it is logically
true are the meaningful and those have truth value. What is scientific
explanation? Scientific explanation is a way of explaining about something
using observations and measurements. If we consider about this, this has very
long history. Confirmation is gives sound as explanation. But these two terms
are different. Confirmation is an act or process which confirmed something.
What is the difference between explanation and confirmation? Explanation is
stronger than confirmation. In explanation, using the observed measurements and
experiences we can prove something.
In scientific explanation we can prove something using
premises. These premises are the statements. Those premises should be logically true and valid. If those premises correct
the conclusion must be true. In science most of the phenomenon that we have are
logically correct and they have proved using experiments and their
observations. As an example, Newtons first low, as you know Newton was sitting
on the bench under apple tree an apple was fallen. Then Newton thought that something
may be here. But he had not evidence to prove that. After all he done some
experiments. Observations of the experiments prove that there is a gravity,
falling of apple is result of that. Like that if someone trying to present scientific
fact, that people need to provide premises that are logically valid. That is
hoe scientific explanation going on.
